Proud to be a Republican

As many of you might know - especially if you were Facebook friends with me - I was a huge supporter of Sen. Fred Thompson’s initial run for the White House. I admire and respect Senator Thompson’s love for our country, and although his Presidential run was unsuccessful, he continues the rich Tennessee legacy of public service.

This year, the Republicans look to Sen. John McCain to continue the legacy of Republican leadership in our Nation. We look to him to save it from the impending socialist ideological encroachment our Nation will endure should Sen. Barack Obama be elected President. And we look to the Republican Party return to the roots our of which our party has grown; those of sound fiscal responsibility, foreign policy and the love for the freedoms that so many Americans have fought and died to defend.

I hope you will take a few minutes to check out this recent video produced by the Senatorial and Congressional Campaign Committees and narrated by Senator Thompson. I hope you will reflect upon what it means to be an American, a citizen of this country that is built upon innovation, sacrifice and hard work and not that of idleness slothfulness and handouts. And I hope that you will be able to see through the empty rhetoric of hope, peace and change that the opposition so often throws around.
